Before I came to know Kangen Water, I thought, all water was the same. It doesn’t matter what kind of water will I drink, as long as it’s clean.
Coming across Kangen Water, learning and researching about it, I realized that not all water is created equal. Some water can be actually bad for our health and some waters are really good for our health.
And since our body is 70-75% made up of water, it’s crucial to know which water is good for us.
So, what makes Kangen Water not just clean, but also healthy?
Ever wonder, what makes this water Healthy?
The secret behind it, is the 3 properties it possesses:
- High Levels of Antioxidants
- High pH levels
- Tiny Water molecules
Now, let me discuss in this article the first one. The HIGH LEVELS OF ANTI-OXIDANTS PROPERTY of KANGEN WATER.
You have probably heard about antioxidants. It’s all over the advertisements for vitamin supplements, beauty ads and health magazines. They all say the same things: they make your skin glow, it’s anti-aging, and it’s really good for us.
So, why do we really need ANTIOXIDANTS? What does it do to our body?
These are the facts about Antioxidants you should know about:
1. OUR BODY’S ENEMY ARE FREE RADICALS
Free radicals are compounds that can cause harm if their levels become too high in your body. The problem is, we cannot stop these free radicals from forming in our body. Free radicals are constantly being formed in our body through:
- Oxidizing food and water that we eat and drink
- Smoking and alcohol
- UV rays
- Air Pollution
- Radiation
- Drugs that we drink
- Infections
- High blood sugar levels
- And even our body’s natural metabolism and processes produce free radicals.
In short, we can’t stop free radicals from forming in our body.
So, what do these FREE RADICALS do to our body? Why are they harmful?
2. FREE RADICALS PRODUCES OXIDATIVE STRESS
Free radicals are harmful to our body because it can cause OXIDATIVE STRESS in the cells of our body.
So, what does this OXIDATIVE STRESS do to our body?
Oxidative stress is an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants in the body, which can lead to cell and tissue damage. Oxidative stress occurs naturally and plays a role in the aging process.
Oxidative stress contributes to many pathological conditions and diseases, including cancer, neurological disorders, atherosclerosis, hypertension, ischemia/perfusion, diabetes, acute respiratory distress syndrome, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and asthma.
3. WHAT IS THE ROLE OF ANTIOXIDANTS IN OXIDATIVE STRESS AND FREE RADICALS?
Antioxidants are substances that prevents cell damage by neutralizing or removing free radicals in our body. The neutralizing effect of antioxidants helps protect the body from oxidative stress.
When there are high levels of antioxidants in our body, this can neutralize the free radicals, thereby, decreasing the Oxidative Stress that is happening in our body, thereby, reducing the occurrence of the chronic diseases caused by oxidative stress and even slows down aging.
4. WHERE DO WE GET ANTIOXIDANTS?
Like free radicals, antioxidants come from several different sources. Cells naturally produce antioxidants such as glutathione and SOD (Super Oxide Dismutase).
A person’s diet is also an important source of antioxidants. Foods such as fruits and vegetables provide many essential antioxidants in the form of vitamins and minerals.
So, we are advised to eat a lot of antioxidant rich foods like these:
And stay away from oxidizing foods and drinks.
Oxidizing DRINKS? How come? How do we know if what we are drinking is actually OXIDIZING OR ANTIOXIDIZING?
5. OXIDATION REDUCTION POTENTIAL MEASURES IF A DRINK IS OXIDIZING (AGING) OR ANTIOXIDIZING
To be able to know which drinks contributes to the formation of free radicals in our body, we should know its capacity to reduce oxidation (aging). We can measure that externally by using an ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) METER.
If the result is:
Positive (+) or High ORP = it means its oxidizing, it promotes free radical formation, thereby, accelerates the aging process, thereby making us look old.
Negative (-) or Low ORP = that means it can reduce oxidation, prevents free radical formation, delays aging process, making us look younger.
In this chart, you can see that:
Soda, sports drink, tap water, bottled water, distilled water and reverse osmosis water – have all positive results. Their ORP is about +300 to +500. It means, these drinks promote free radical formation and accelerate aging.
While on the other hand.
Vitamin C (-80), Green tea (-100), cod liver oil (-200) and Kangen water (-400 to -800) – all have negative ORP. Meaning these things prevents oxidation and delay aging.
6. KANGEN WATER, CONTAINS THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF ANTIOXIDANTS YOU CAN POSSIBLY DRINK OR EAT
In the page 162 of the book, KILLING CANCER NOT PEOPLE, by Rober G. Wright, the founder of the American Anti-Cancer Institute writes:
….One 12 ounce glass of ionized water, being chock-full of those pesky little negatively charged, hydroxyl ions (OH-), has more antioxidant capacity within the human body than all organic fruits and vegetables that you could possibly eat in one day!
Not only that. Kangen Water increases the production of SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE (SOD).
7. SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE, the MASTER ANTIOXIDANT.
So, what’s that?
We have 2 types of antioxidants in our body:
A. Primary Antioxidants – these are antioxidants produced in our body by the liver that helps to break down harmful free radicals and prevents tissue damage.
These are powerful antioxidants since 1 molecule of this enzyme can neutralize MILLIONS of free radicals per second.
Example of these: Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase.
B. Secondary Antioxidants – are the antioxidants from our diet. This type of antioxidant is much weaker than the primary antioxidants. They only slow down cell damage and can become saturated. This fight with a 1:1 ratio. 1 molecule fights 1 molecule of free radical.
SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE – is 3,500X more powerful than VITAMIN C
In the book, “Alkaline Ionized Water, Scientific Study Results of the Benefits of Alkaline Ionized Water in Human Tissue Culture and in Living Human Volunteer,” a report prepared by Dr. H.S. Filtzer, a Harvard doctor.
He found out that:
- Testing Kangen Water for antioxidant activity compared to ordinary water showed that the Kangen Water had greater antioxidant capacity in living human tissue cultured in cells.
- Drinking Kangen Water increases the production and activity of SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE, the most powerful antioxidant in the body.
The finding of significant superoxide dismutase in the exercise study is profoundly and clearly indicative of a benefit of alkaline ionized water (Kangen Water).
Wow, amazing!
And that’s only the first property, the ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTY OF KANGEN WATER.
Next property I am going to discuss is: The Science Behind the Alkalinity of Kangen Water and How it differs from other Alkaline water commercially available in the market.
